GWRTAC's Groundwater Central©
Groundwater Central© is a portal for Internet-based groundwater information that consists of several integrated components that may be publicly accessed for no fee. The "smart" search engine provides a one-stop shop to browse for a wide variety of information from on-line publications and bibliographies, to presentations, case studies, research descriptions, data repositories, and vendors. Communication center components integrated into Groundwater Central© include a public bulletin board, and an "Ask An Expert" feature to facilitate customer access to professionals with expertise in a variety of relevant areas. Our aim is to significantly improve the efficiency of Internet research and communication for environmental professionals and the interested public. We hope you find this portal useful for your groundwater information needs. Remember to bookmark Groundwater Central© for future visits!
The Groundwater Central© SEARCH ENGINEThere are currently 3309 ground water related records in the system to search against. This database crosscuts and centralizes information found at a variety of web sites, including, but not limited to: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Each record includes an abstract, available contact information, and one or more hyperlinks. In addition to the basic keyword and phrase search, author (POC) data can be searched separately, as can date information. The advanced search is especially useful to quickly obtain relevant information for a certain information topic, technology, contaminant, or interest area. The newly added "search shortcuts" feature will provide speedy access to hot button topics (LNAPL, DNAPL, vapor intrusion) and frequently requested information "subsets" such as vendor information and events. |
